Class 11 Biology Locomotion and Movement Introduction


  • Animals and plants exhibit a wide range of movements, like streaming of protoplasm in the unicellular organisms, movement of cilia, flagella and move limbs, jaws, eyelids in human.
  • Voluntary movements are called locomotion.
  • All locomotions are movements, but all movements are not locomotions.
  • Locomotion is generally for search of food, shelter, mate, climatic conditions etc.
