Introduction
- Water and food should be transported in plants to reach all parts of the plant.
- Transport over longer distances proceeds through the vascular system, and is called translocation.
- In rooted plants, transport of water and minerals is essentially unidirectional, from roots to the stems, whereas organic and mineral nutrients however, undergo multidirectional transport.
