Class 8 Biology Reaching the Age of Adolescence Introduction


Reproduction is an essential part to ensure continuity of species. Human beings are capable of reproducing their offsprings only after they reach a certain age.

At the age of 10 or 11 years a child enters the reproductive phase after which they become capable to reproduce their offsprings. At this age their body undergoes several changes. This period of life is called Adolescence. It begins at the age of 10-11 years of age and ends at the age of 18-19 years. The period from 13 years of age to 19 years of age is called teenage.

The changes occurring in their body implies that they have reached the stage of puberty.
